I come to Torrance about once a month, and my first stop after baggage claim at
LAX is always All Indian Sweets and Snacks. The food here is so insanely good.
The guys who run the shop are so nice, and the food never, ever lets me down.
The shop is always crowded with people who are actually from India, which,
to me, is an excellent sign. I'm particularly addicted to their pani puri and
papri chaat, as well as the kadhi pakora - probably my favorite dish there.
If you go by yourself, you will surely make some new friends, since the
seating is open and not divided into individual tables. This is not a big place
so if you have a large group or are looking for privacy and quiet, I suggest
getting it to go and have the awesome food at home.
They sell basic cooking ingredients and household items in addition to
prepared food, and are really helpful if you have questions about what anything
is, how to cook/use it, etc.
Also - you cannot beat the deal for lunch. For less than you'd pay for
Subway or McD's ($3.99) you can have a full Indian lunch, prepared with care by
people who really know how to cook! They do have non-veg options for all you
carnivores out there. |
